Caring, compassionate, gentle: your dental superhero in Leeds
At Horsforth Dental we provide the best possible dental care. We understand the importance of happy, healthy smiles and take enormous pride in our work. Our core belief is that prevention is the best medicine. It’s so simple, but so often overlooked. We strive to help our patients achieve beautiful and long-lasting smiles by listening intently, and creating a treatment plan bespoke to their needs. We are a modern dental practice: artistic, gentle and fresh in our approach.
Our little practice on Troy Road has a big heart; our clinic is relaxed and full of colour. Since Dr Bedford took over in March 2018, the practice has changed beyond recognition and we are very proud of our growing reputation as a compassionate and professional service. Whether you are in need of regular check-ups for your family, or you’re a busy professional looking for that perfect smile, we are here for you. Our highly trained and experienced team will transform the way you feel about your teeth.

Sam qualified in 2003 from Sheffield University. Since then he has worked as a general dentist with a penchant for crown and bridge work, prosthodontics and orthodontics. Sam prides himself on his approachability and willingness to work with a smile.
In 2014 Sam became one of only a handful of UK practitioners to study and implement the Myobrace system and offer it as an alternative to fixed braces. Myobrace enables patients with crooked teeth to be treated much younger than conventional braces. Sam has a growing level of expertise in this area.
Outside of dentistry, Sam has a million hobbies and interests. He plays football and supports Everton, runs, snowboards, enjoys gaming and Lego (he really loves Lego). He loves music, art, science, books and cinema. Sam and his wife Natalie have two young children who keep them VERY busy.

Helen qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2000. During her first year in practice she was introduced to using sedation to help anxious patients undergo dental treatment and consequently found her niche. She has recently decided to further her training in this area and is currently completing her Diploma in Conscious Sedation alongside her jobs and busy family life.
Before moving to Horsforth, Helen worked in a practice for 12 years, delivering general dentistry and thoroughly enjoying building trusting relationships with her patients and their families. Helen takes enormous pride in her work and her people skills. She is honest and dedicated to providing her patients with the highest quality of care; she will always give 110%.
Helen concurrently works at the Leeds Dental Institute, providing treatment to patients who have been referred from general dental practices, as well as teaching oral surgery to dental undergraduates and running a module on anxiety and pain management. She has worked in the hospital since 2003, completing a number of roles before settling in the academic oral surgery department in 2009.
Outside of dentistry, Helen is a wife to a DIY King and mother to two cheeky pre-schoolers. She is a keen cook, and enjoys gardening and getting outside generally. She used to devote any free time to cycling, running and skiing, but these hobbies are currently on the back burner till her children are older and can hopefully join in!
